Location / accessibility
Because of its location along the road around Hoofddorp, and its location near the A4, makes this hotel ideal for guest who have to travel to Schiphol. By car this airport can be reached within 20 minutes, but the hotel also offers a free shuttle service from en to Schiphol. The shuttle departs from platform A9/13. Please inform at the hotel for the exact time schedule. The centre of the young and cozy Hoofddorp is well accessible the same for het Haarlemmermeersen Bos.

The first bus departs at 05:45 a.m. and the last bus departs at 11.15 p.m. Our free shuttle bus departs from Schiphol Airport to the hotel every 30 minutes; quarter to and quarter past the hour. The first bus departs at 6.15 a.m. and the last bus departs at 11.45 p.m. You may find our shuttle bus at Schiphol Airport at the area for hotel shuttle services at platform A9, located directly outside the arrivals hall. Our bus may be recognized with the names Best Western Airport & Bastion Hotel on stated on its side. A reservation is not required for the shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. A reservation is required for the shuttle service from the hotel to the airport and can be made at the reception. Kindly take into consideration that the shuttle bus for this hotel will always make an intermediate stop at the Best Western Hotel Amsterdam Airport where you can then switch to the correct shuttle bus to take you to Schiphol or towards the hotel.

During the month March & April 2014 construction work will be taking place on the Kruisweg (N201) Hoofddorp. We hereby take the opportunity to inform you that a traffic diversion may apply during this period.
We advise you to follow the diversion signs.

The hotel is easy to reach and is situated off the Hoofddorp ring road, about 10 minutes from the A4, junction 3. The cosy city of Hoofddorp is easy to reach and Schiphol airport is about 25 minutes from the hotel. The hotel offers free parking for its guests. This hotel is also conveniently situated for Amsterdam, the train journey from Schiphol to the city centre takes less than 25 minutes.
We offer a free shuttle service from and to Schiphol. Please inform at the hotel for the exact time schedule. The Bastion Hotels bus stop is situated at the taxi rank.

By car
From Rotterdam/The Hague:
Leave the motorway at junction Hoofddorp/Aalsmeer. Turn left at the traffic lights towards Heemstede. Turn right at the 4th traffic lights, junction Haarlemmermeersebos. The hotel is on the left.

From Schiphol/Amsterdam:
Leave the motorway at junction Hoofddorp/Aalsmeer. Turn left at the traffic lights towards Heemstede. Turn right at the 3rd traffic lights, junction Haarlemmermeersebos. The hotel is on the left.

By Public Transport
From Schiphol:
The bus station is opposite the terminal. Bus 174 to Haarlem departs every half-hour, from 05.50 a.m. to 00.20 a.m. Change to bus 140 and get off at bus stop Houtwijkerveld. Bus 52 to Noordwijk departs every half-hour, from 06.08 a.m. to 00.15 a.m. These buses also go to Hoofddorp.

To Hoofddorp Centre:
Take bus 140 to bus stop Houtwijkerveld, get off at bus stop Melis Spaansweg.

To Amsterdam Centre:
Take the shuttle or the bus to Schiphol and then take the train to Amsterdam Central Station. The train departs 6 times an hour during the day and once every hour after midnight. Bus tickets are available at the station, at Schiphol or in Hoofddorp.

Service was onder de maat: sherry was oud en slecht, goedgemaakt op kosten hotel dmv een glas uit nieuwe fles. Buiten geen zout/peper op tafel, geen place-mats, geen bierviltjes onder glazen. Bij invallen van schemer vragen om kaarsje op tafel aan te steken. Bovenlicht op kamer kapot en niet te sluiten. Waterstraal wastafel veel te klein. Beiden doorgegeven. Pluspunt: bedienend personeel uitstekend!

Al meerdere malen verbleven in bastion, voornamelijk op Schiphol airport echter ook al meerdere malen hier. Tijdens mijn werk zelfs een hele jaar op doordeweekse dagen. Dit keer tegengevallen. In de nacht van vrijdag op zaterdag om 1.00 uur snachts een half uur voor de deur gestaan. De nachtreceptioniste was spoorloos. Gelukkig ging na eeen half uur de telefoon hel lang over waardoor de receptioniste de gang uit kwam stuiven, op de voet gevolgd door een man die weer weg stoof bij het zien van ( een gast ) mij voor de deur. Waar zij mee doende waren boeit me echt niet echter dat ik daar stond heeft me mateloos geïrriteerd. Een half uur staan bellen, geen respons, tevens geen excuus. Erg onprettig. Vervolgens is de dag daarna op zaterdag mijn kamer niet schoongemaakt. Op zich te overleven alleen ook geen schone handdoeken. Al met al, ik kom al jaren graag in Bastion door de constante kwaliteit van service ( Heb zelfs voor mijn werk geswitched van Hotel Mercure Sloten naar Bastion Schiphol Airport ) . Niet over de top, niet te gek maar gewoon simpel en goed. Dit verblijf beantwoordde daar maar gedeeltelijk aan. Ik denk dat een receptioniste die op vrijdag nacht liever met haar vriendje bezig is in plaats van met haar werk niet thuis hoort bij een hotel in deze rol. Vriendelijke groet, Roel van Gorkum

Slechte zaak dat je met Google bastion + Schiphol uitkomt hij een hotel in Hoofddorp ipv het bastion Amsterdam airport , resultaat sta bij het verkeerde hotel. Verder prima.

geboekt om toch enkele uren te slapen vooraleer een vroege vlucht te nemen op Schiphol - jammer genoeg geen oog dicht gedaan vanwege jongerenfeestje en om de 20 sec dichtslaande deuren

Zoals al aangegeven bij uitchecken: D
e werking van de douchekop niet goed (water liep langs slang naar beneden).
Er was geen uitleg over de kluis en airco aanwezig.
We hadden kamer 20, in feite naast de ingang van het hotel. Andere gasten rookten voor het binnengaan nog snel hun sigaret op (of gingen misschien bewust naar buiten om te roken), maar de rook/geur kwam dan via het openstaande raam de kamer in. Misschien een andere locatie voor de rokers aanbieden?

Sorry about the breakfast question, couldn't undo any of the selections, I didn't have breakfast. Room was modern, clean and tidy. Although very near the airport, couldn't hear the planes as the windows were double glazed. Lovely hotel.

Heeft er iemand van u al eens geslapen in de kamers van 28 en 30.wellicht heeft u ook bijna niet kunnen slapen door de harde slagen van de tussendeuren. Graag zien wij een vergoeding vanwege deze slechte zaak.
ook de douchedeur kregen wij lastig open.
Jammer, als deze problemen opgelost zijn zullen veelmensen blij zijn.

Het was heel teleurstellend dat ik geen WiFi op de kamer kon ontvangen. Bij de receptie had ik een goede ontvangst.
Er is mij niet gemeld dat er bij Bastion de Luxe Hotel van shuttle gewisseld moest worden.

Ik kreeg 4 WITTE bolletjes! Ik ben niet gek op wit brood. Maar goed. Ik kwam er te laat achter. Anders had ik het teruggegeven.

geweest als overnachting voor vertrek vakantie via Schiphol. Overnachting Is ons goed bevallen. Per taxi naar Schiphol, geregeld via Bastion. Reserveringsnr. niet bekend. Heel vriendelijk en goed personeel !!!
